Note: Dan is providing a brief update for Liz
Saturday, July 29 was a big cycling day — 84 miles and 4200 feet of climb — northwest on Wisconsin’s Great River Road paralleling the Mississippi. Elizabeth was concerned because this would be the biggest test of her knee since she her injury – lots of miles and lots of hills. The day was long but Elizabeth felt good and soon found herself at the Lake Elmo Park. Kathy and Louise (Missing Spokes team riders) dropped in for a visit.

Sunday the ride was a shorter 61 miles north along the St Croix river. The route crossed the river into Wisconsin for about 25 miles before crossing back into Minnesota and on to Wild River State Park.

Monday (July 31) Elizabeth turned West to go 61 miles to the town of Milaca, MN. The roads began to flatten out a bit as there was only 1500 feet to climb to their destination of Milaca Recreation Park.

Milaca used to be the home of a big logging operation. Elizabeth poses for a photo on one of the sleds that was used to transport logs from the forest to the mill.

Elizabeth had cooking duty on Monday night – looks like she had a successful grocery run judging by the large shopping bag on the back of her bike!

Enjoying these updates & the fabulous pictures. Looking good, Liz! Nice to see you smiling.
You are doing so well. Glad to see Kathy and Louise met up with you .
