Completed 335 miles with 19,896 feet of climb
More beautiful scenery as we ride towards our first “zero day” – or day off. Today we rode thru the White Mountains and climbed through the Kancamagus Pass – I only needed one short break on the way up. The weather remained nice today. I tried setting up a harness to hold my phone on my chest to see if I can capture video.
I made it to the Notch Hostel ready for our day off. My knee is starting to hurt after the almost 20,000 feet of climbing over the past week. The hostel is close to the Appalachian Trail — we are sharing the hostel with a number of hikers.
Logistics update – meals. The dinner meal must consist of an appetizer (put out by 530pm), a salad, an entree, a side dish or two, and a dessert. Food allergies must be accommodated – we have gluten, lactose, and one diabetic. Tonight we had cheese and salami followed by spaghetti with marinara, veggies, salad with avocado, fruit, and ice cream.

Great going, Liz! As I’ve hiked those mountains, I’m in awe of your ride. Lovely scenery! Hope your knee feels better.
Much love, Rene
